“Can misaligned drawings still form a gradient?”
This original artwork, part of the “Displaced” series, combines digital and analogue expressions of generative art. The drawing was initially made with code using an algorithm to generate multiple outcomes of dashed lines.
One of the outcomes, with a subjectively appealing composition, was picked by intuition and then transported to paper in three stages. The paper was slightly shifted up before drawing a layer of dashes with a blue felt tip marker. Then the paper was slightly shifted down to draw a layer of orange lines with another felt tip marker. Finally, a fine-liner pen drew the black dashes.
Made with code (Javascript & SVG).
